I just had the same idea.. I think i'll build a pair sometime.

its not entirely pointless, for extended periods outdoors or away from power sources to replenish the battery you might need/use sunlight to recharge for your night excursions. I'm of course thinking in terms of a zombie apocalypse and what not...but still.
